“Same old, same old…”
I was thinking about that old saying some days ago as I starting my school when I realized how much that saying really bugs me. “How can people even think that?” I wondered. “Don’t they realize, every day is a miracle? Every day is unique–special; a moment you will never be able to re-live again. How could that ever be, “Same old, same old”?
As a missionary, granted, my life hasn’t always been the same as many other regular teenagers my age. I do have those moments when you feel like simply bursting from excitement and those moments when life is anything but boring… but then again, I’m just another human being.
I’ve had my share of ups and downs, I have had to do the same things every regular teenager needs to do: wake up, eat, study, exercise, do my chores, go back to bed, etc.
Yes, maybe even sometimes getting dangerously close to becoming a dull “same old, same old” day. But we have to realize every day is an opportunity to start all over again with a clean slate. To me, that’s something definitely worth celebrating!
Each day will give back to us what we give to it, and the same goes for attitude. Think positive and you will become positive! Think your day is awesome, and guess what? It WILL become awesome!
We all just have to keep our eyes open, ready to catch those seemingly unimportant little things that can add a sparkle to our days. Get rid of that “same old, same old” and replace it with, “New and good! New and good!”
Super good and interesting all this that you wrote! Keep doing that, it’s really inspiring!
